My own art is influenced by travel, a response to colours, heat, light and shade, the bleached paint of weatherworn shutters, the graphic shapes of parasols and cafe awnings. I want to give the viewer an impression of these places through abstraction- with a hint of reality. I mix acrylic paint with screen printed images and drawn line, building up layers upon layers of colour, texture, pattern and line.
